This is some quick points on what’s new for SharePoint 2013 for developers. I took some notes from SharePoint Conference 2012 (#SPC253)
- Workflows now runs on a different process and are powered by Windows Workflow Foundation 4.
- Apps extends/personalize the way we create/consume information.
- App are available in 3 form factors : Full page, App part and Command extensions.
- Drag and drop works with SharePoint 2013
- Apps are managed by Catalog. There is the Microsoft Store (Official catalog) and private Catalog.
- To put your hands on SharePoint 2013 development, simply register to dev.office.com
- You can develop apps in the browser using Napa‘s very own Visual Studio in browser. And if it’s not enough, a one-click-install-everything button exist.
- SharePoint 2013 support solutions (WSP) and Web Part, but they don’t seem cool anymore.
Finally, I think the most important thing to remember here is that Microsoft when on the Web Standards for the dev Tools.
